It’s been a long time coming, but Leonard Marshall is finally entering the New York Giants’ Ring of Honor. Co-owner John Mara officially announced the news on Tuesday and noted that six others will be joining Marshall. They include Ottis Anderson, Joe Morris, Rodney Hampton, Jimmy Patton, Kyle Rote and Ronnie Barnes.

The induction ceremony will be held at halftime of a Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Monday, September 26. Marshall was a second-round pick of the Giants in 1983 NFL draft and spent 10 seasons with the team, winning two Super Bowls. He was also named to the Pro Bowl twice and earned Second-Team All-Pro honors twice.

Nice.
Marshall took his game to the next level in the NFL.
At LSU, the defensive front of Leonard Marshall, Ramsey Dardar, and Bill Elko was special.

You mean he wasn’t already in there.

Until they got tired! There was a single competent substitute for the entire Dline -Greg Bowser, and he could only play nose.

After we beat Bama in 82 Bear Bryant recognized Marshall and said he regretted not recruiting him.
Also Marshall basically ended Joe Montana’s career with tge 49er’s in the NFC championship game. Marshall hit 49ers quarterback Joe Montana so hard that he suffered a bruised sternum, bruised stomach, cracked ribs, and a broken hand

The secondary wasn't bad either, Jeffrey Dale, Liffort Hobley, Eugene Daniels and James Britt.

Your two downvotes notwithstanding, you are exactly correct.

Where does he live these days?

what is his post-LSU story?

Seems overdue. He was a key defensive player in their Super Bowl teams of that era. LT is rightly the superstar of that defense and Carson is a legend, but Carson didn't even last to the 1990 Super Bowl run (Parcells' second). There is an argument Marshall shouldn't have gone with the inaugural group (Parcells, LT, Carson), but teammates Banks and Bavaro went in 2011 and there is no "football" reason to put them in in 2011 and wait 11 years for Leonard Marshall.

It’s a shame Liffort’s son, Ratphuc Hobley never really panned out.

The Giants are one of those old school organizations that just dont hand stuff out. But he damn sure deserves it.

I get that, but like I said, Banks and Bavaro in 2011, but Marshall in 2022? Something isn't adding up. I suppose it is because he left for the Jets, but I don't know all the ins and outs.
