Otto just makes stuff up. Engaging him will just be frustrating unless you realize he is just an old crazy man yelling at clouds. Then it’s funny.

Neil Gorsuch’s former law clerk says Trump has constitutional authority to declassify anything he wants

Neil Gorsuch’s former law clerk says … that everything in Trumps possession was declassified

yeah sure. your example case is about a sitting presiden and one issue.
he had to notify about each document. 11 boxes.
every agency every department.
while president. he did nothing about any of it. ever.

You give the fbi the benefit of the doubt without any direct knowledge, but not trump. Interesting.
Who did you believe about the passports?

You have zero clue if this is true. You are a known liar and propagandist.

That doesn’t mean much. Your predictions are wrong 100 percent of the time.

Well shite, if a former law clerk says it, then who could doubt them?
But a convicted felon like Avenatti or Cohen says something about Trump and you buy it hook, line and sinker.

quote:I do not think that the question in the minds of most people is whether the president CAN (in most cases) declassify a document. Clearly, the answer to this question is USUALLY “yes.”
anyone with a cleared job would tell you as part of your training you learn the president is the ultimate classification authority. Don’t know what’s controversial.
The question in MY mind is whether Trump actually DID declassify sll these documents. As with most things, I tend to look at this from a legalistic perspective.
If a document is marked “Classified,” that designation creates a presumption that the document remains classified, absent proof that it has been “declassified.”
Obviously, the best such evidence is a memorandum prepared before the Inauguration and maintained in the official record. Trump does not HAVE any such memoranda (except as to one folder of Crossfire Hurricane documents).
Apparently, Trump is claiming that he declassified all of these OTHER documents, but just didn’t tell anyone or maintain any written record of his actions. Perhaps that will meet the burden of overcoming the presumption.
Perhaps not.

You are certainly wrong.
Just let it go. The president doesn't have to tell anyone or ask permission to declassify anything.

I've noticed that instead of providing information you ONLY use name calling.
all your retorts amount to nothing.
in future give examples, proof and logic.
lets see you do district of Columbia manslaughter as it would be my go to case if I were ordering Georgia feds and d.c.
there are several.
one would necessarily include the required additional crime.
187 MINUTES.
HE KNEW THE CROWD HAD WEAPONS. HE ORDERED THE ATTACK. WHILE THE MURDERS HAPPENED HE WATCHED ON TV.
HE ALLOWED THE RIOT TO PROCEED, PERHAPS TO CUT OFF THE COUNT.
THATS THE CASE.
PLUS ANY ONE OTHER CRIME. ILL GO WITH INCITING RIOT.
THERES SURE TO BE SOME D.C. way of addressing incitement.
ENJOY.

If he took it to MAR while president, it is deemed declassified.

Show me the law you are basing your statement on about a sitting President not having the authority to declassify anything they want.
Unless, of course, you can't find such a law because it doesn't exist and you're simply attempting to wishcast it into existence...

Again, where is the documentation of this “standing order?”

His constitutional authority. He doesn't need to document anything.

The only person that died that day was killed by capitol police. This is why I always call you out on your lies. Because they are flat out lies
