Medical Professionals - what hospitals would you send your close family to if emergency?

Which ones do you have high confidence of quality care? Who is the BEST and WHY?
In particular, interested in SE Louisiana, but throw in your respective states, please as OT audience is far and wide.
Recent experience(s) for a relative who has had multiple serious emergencies; the care has been significantly unimpressive:
The following were consistent over multiple experiences:
- Dr. does not introduce self (don't know their name) and provides minimal information, context, explanation. Answers questions as if you have 8th grade education (ie, inadequate answers)
- Mis-diagnosis and failed to do a critical test; or incomplete diagnosis another time
- Lack of communication by staff (no explanation why removed from regular meds, critical ones) while in ER for 10+ hours
- lost count of the number of staff that are involved that appears to lack continuity, communication, end-to-end ownership; no one looking holistically after the patient
- basic needs not met (request for support to take to bath room never shows up, after multiple hours)
Know the system is overwhelmed and suspect post-Covid medical world may still be reeling, but this was unbelievably bad (I am leaving out quite a few other significant examples of poor care).
1st world medical care this was NOT!

Catholic hospitals suck. Protestant hospitals are the best.

Mis-diagnosis
the medical field is unimpressive outside of research.
The systems aren't designed for patients, they're set up for hospitals and physicians. The system is horrible.

( not a medical professional) I’d say North Oaks is the absolute worst hospital around aka Death Oaks

Believe it or not, some of the best specialists I have work with are at Slidell Memorial

Not a medical professional but Mayo Clinic here in Jacksonville seems to be top notch. I know there are a couple locations in the US

-Its funny how you complain about the wait times and also that the doctor didnt sit down, introduce themselves, provide a resume, make sure you approve of their credentials and discuss and get your input on everything they are doing.
- The ER doctor is in charge of and responsible for the patient until they are transferred or discharged, would you like someone in the room at all times with you that is "holistically looking after the patient"
- All the ERs are short staffed and also full of people who use them as a primary care, do not have an actual emergency, or are webMD all stars looking to tell them whats wrong and what prescription they need.
If you have an actual emergency then go to the ER, if not go to a primary care of your choosing and if they do not provide you with the soft touch customer service you are seeking, then shop around for another one.

If it is a true emergency the correct answer is always the closest.
If it is something that can wait until you have done research it probably isn't a true emergency consequently you should call your PCP and follow those instructions

Patient died couple of days later in same hospital. Quick introduction of who Dr. was would have been nice. Seemed to be 1st of multiple deficiencies. Real emergency, baw. Not looking to hire Dr. for a job. Just wanted "good enough" for this patient. Nowhere close.

I’m dealing with this kind of crap with my internal medicine doctor’s office. Have had to call at least 5 times to obtain my lab work results. Ridiculous.
They sure have no problem taking my money for co-pays though.

Depends on the emergency.

Have not been there but heard very bad things about the current Ochsner hospital off O’Neal, though some dates back to when it was Summit.

If one doesn’t have a trauma case before being admitted at OLOL, stay there long enough.
Cops need a fricking substation in the ER lobby.

Hands down, OLOL is the best, but this is only because of all of the specialists. Dont expect great “customer service” though, that is completely gone. Actually, don’t know many hospitals that truly offer that anymore other than very tiny ones in small towns. Employees at the OLOL can be downright rude at times. But remember, you are there for the care.
If you are looking for “nicest” hospital in BR go with the General or Ochsner.

I use Methodist hospital system here in houston.
That being said, the nephrology department with Kelsey-Seybold saved my mother's life.

I receive my cancer treatment from Mayo in Jax and everything had been top notch so far.
