10 years ago today, Félix Hernández threw the 23rd perfect game in MLB history.
The three perfect games in 2012 (Philip Humber, Matt Cain, and Félix Hernández) are the most in any season in MLB history.
There has not been a perfect game tossed in MLB since.

Yankees still suck, under .500 since July 1st

Can the Yankees go 12-4 in their next 16? 3 vs Tampa, 4 vs. Toronto, 2 vs Mets, 4 @ A's, 3 @ Angels. Will Judge hit at least 3 homers this week?

Postseason schedule is out and there are less travel days than usual in LDS and LCS. Only one travel day in each series. Kind of strange and will definitely impact pitching. Last 3 days of LDS and last 5 days of LCS will be played with no off days.

Yankees will be luck to go 8-8, pitching is back but now DJ is going on the DL, Rizzo is still not right, Stanton is hurt... Torres, Donaldson, IKF, and Hicks can't hit.... Judge and Trevino can only do so much

MLB has released its postseason schedule.
Game 1 of the World Series is Friday, Oct. 28. Game 7 would be Nov. 5.
All four wild card series will be on three consecutive days, Oct. 7-9.
Each division series starts Oct. 11.
The NLCS starts Oct. 18 and the ALCS on Oct. 19.

After expanding the postseason to 12 teams and the lockout-induced late start, MLB wanted to shorten the calendar. It did so by getting rid of some travel days. So no off-days between Games 4/5 in DS and Games 5/6 in LCS. Could affect strategy. And geography could be a nightmare.

Examples: M's-Yankees ALDS. Seattle hosts Game 4 on Oct. 16, wins to force Game 5. Both teams fly from Seattle to New York and play Game 5 the next day, Oct. 17. Similar in NLCS with Mets and Dodgers. Games 3-7 are on five consecutive days -- including a cross-country flight.

Home field advantage could be even bigger than it already is. Flying in and going home for a key game vs flying cross country and going to a hotel.

Im just trying to figure out why what he quoted warranted a suck it Mets, lol

Gonna make it harder to throw degrom and max twice in a 7 games series I would think.

I keep looking at it and laughing.

Our staff is more than Max and deGrom.

Wouldn't that also make it harder for us to throw Strider and Fried twice?
They will go on 4 days rest if they have to, if I had to guess.

It will be impossible to throw them both twice in the NLDS now. It could also limit their ability to throw twice in the NLCS if they are pushed deep in the NLDS.
I assume they will go deGrom game 1 and Scherzer game 2 of the NLDS. That would line deGrom up for game 5 on normal rest or game 1 of the NLCS on extra rest.
But if he is forced to pitch game 5 of the NLDS he would not be able to start two games of the NLCS unless he pitches on short rest.
It certainly hurts the Mets more than anybody else imo assuming you think Scherzer and deGrom are the two most impactful arms in the postseason.

I love max fried and strider but come on. Not nearly the same impact

Do you think fewer Fried and Strider appearances is as meaningful as less deGrom and Scherzer? Braves typically go extremely bullpen heavy in the postseason anyway. Fried and Strider are not facing anybody a third time through barring something crazy. Braves didn’t even let Fried see the 7th inning of game 6 of the WS when he was dominating and had a 7 run lead and didn’t let Anderson see the 6th inning of a game he had a no hitter in.
It hurts the Braves in that Minter/Iglesias/Matzek/Jansen etc will have fewer off days but I would deem fewer deGrom and Scherzer appearances more impactful than a less fresh Braves bullpen.
