To be fair the media never mentions them alongside us or the Cubs for some reason. I don’t know why.

Yep. The Braves tanked...it's a fact. Their primary 2015 lineup consisted of Jonny Gomes, Adonis Garcia, Cameron Maybin, Jace Peterson, and a 38 year old AJ Pierzynski.

They brought in Markakis to serve as a veteran influence as they started bringing up younger players, but the only thing keeping the Braves from completely bottoming out was that they held on to Freeman. Which ultimately proved to be the smart thing to do as it enabled them to have a consistent force in the lineup as they built back up into contenders.

Having Markakis and Freddie likely shortened the tank considerably, but it was still a tank.
