I just looked him up and apparently he has to have another election in only 4 months because this was a special election. They should either let the spot remain vacant until November or have the special election continue the full term. Such a waste of money to have two elections that close together.
ETA: And its against the same guy again
So they are just having a rematch 4 months later.

Finstad will face a quick rematch in November for a full term against his Democratic opponent, former Hormel Foods CEO Jeff Ettinger, who came within 4 percentage points of winning Tuesday in their Republican-leaning southern Minnesota district.

Correct sir. He was somewhat of a replacement if you will.

Louisiana has several elections each year. In addition to November there's the Sneak a Millage Past election held on a fall Saturday with an LSU home game. There are the runoffs scheduled during the Christmas season in December and at least one scheduled in the spring with little to no notice...again for sneaking previously rejected tax hikes past the unaware populace.
