The key word in the OP’s title was “thought”. A lot of people “thought” he couldn’t recruit. A lot of people “thought” he couldn’t adjust to the “culture” in Louisiana..and that he’d be totally out of his element. But then again…you will always try to find the negative.

I think LSU hit a home run with BK but it’s all speculation right now.
Very excited for the season and hopeful. Once BK has a season under his belt, we will have a clearer picture. And I suspect (hope, maybe p&g glasses on) this team will perform much better than than many people expect.

Loved the hire from the start. He will do big things at LSU, knock on wood. All things go as planned he’s here for 10-11 years or so.

KNEW he was very good since his days at Grand Valley State.
Look, ND is an extremely glamorous job and he left for LSU.
He knows what he was incapable of and what he IS, indeed, capable of.
It's going to happen in a relatively quick period of time.

A lot of things are speculation. But when a coach has won at 4 other places incrementally and he arrives at his 5th place with more talent than the other 4, he's not gonna fail. He's also better than the last 2 coaches that won NC's, so, he's not going to fail.
