I travel for work a lot obviously driving. I noticed Amazon has some options I think I read somewhere that about 85% of incidents are caught by the front camera. A rear camera would be nice I’m just not crazy about actually having to run wires to the back of my company suv for the rear camera.
I guess there are some options that might have the rear camera mounted with the front camera - if that makes sense.
I don’t really need gps etc
Thoughts or opinions?

It seems like someone would come up with a way to use the back up camera like this and just capture the video all the time.

I just found out about dongar adapters. I have not bought one yet, but it’s simple enough- a pass through mirror power adapter with a USB port, assuming you have a compatible mirror and camera.

I have only recently started looking into the idea of dash cams in general. $30 is worth not tucking cable in/around trim or making a wire splice myself at my mirror.

Drawback- no “parking lot mode” or “pass through” power. If the vehicle isn’t on, the camera isn’t on. This doesn’t bother me. But if it bothers you, then don’t spring for this. But if you want a simple, clean install, these look like they’ll be in my shopping cart soon.

We have a small business with 3 trucks and have been pleased with the Roav cameras(amazon). Very easy to work with.
