Wanted to throw a place out there that many haven’t been. Family of 4 stayed there 10 days at a resort with a rental car and loved it. Lots to do and the beaches around the island were spectacular. Many of the tourists there were straight from Amsterdam, as Curacao is a Dutch island, so that was kind of unexpected.
The airport was superb with a great food court. Along with Aruba and Bonaire, it’s not in the hurricane zone, so that’s a plus as well.

Recommendations on places to stay? All inclusive?

We stayed at Royal Sea Aquarium Resort. Sounds like a hokey name, but is great. We had a Jr Suite that sleeps 4 for under $200 a night, not all inclusive. 9/10 rating for us. Had all we needed and were very well taken care of. Accommodations can make or break a trip, and this is a place that gets a thumbs up.

prices to me were pretty similar to the US. maybe slightly more.
anyone going def go catch you a filet at steak and ribs.
I usually stay in the tourist area by the queen emma bridge which is centrally located on the island. some people may prefer to stay in the jan thiel area where all the blonde haired 6' tall white women are.
the beaches all along the southwest side of the island up to westpunt are all very good. westpunt has one area where you can snorkel with sea turtles which was cool. also look up the tugboat for snorkeling. great spot to snorkel, although everywhere I tried snorkeling was great.

Pretty similar prices to America, except normal groceries were a bit more pricey. So, just take the prices of any resort town in the states and there you have it.

The Netherlands had a very good baseball team at the last World Baseball Championships as there are several MLB players from Curacao including Kenley Jansen. Ozie Albies and Jurickson Profar.

Was he on that last dutch team? I thought he retired several years ago.

Yes. Right when you exit the airport, they have a huge sign with both Ozzie and Kenley on it.

Another fun fact. Curacao had the largest open air brothel in the western hemisphere up until covid shut it down. The facility is up for auction now and so someone may buy and open it back up.
