You're probably less safe driving around Nola at 3 a.m. than you would be in the comfort of a hotel room. Just my two cents.

He's not even going to Nola. He's talking about Oschner.

Is the Causeway Marriott relatively safe?

They can cancel the surgery, your balls are already removed.

The Texas Motel on Airline at Causeway is very close to the hospital. Tell Jimmy I said hello...

Yeah. I am. It's called being prudent when traveling overnight with your wife and child and the country's biggest murder capital with a carjacking fetish is right next door.

Calm down Nancy, you are catching flak because with all of the places you have listed, none are in New Orleans. Anyway, best of luck with the surgery

If you are traveling in from MS you can avoid Orleans Parish altogether by taking I-12 to the Causeway Bridge. Cross Lake Pontchartrain into Metairie and just follow Causeway Blvd south to Jefferson Hwy. Turn left on Jefferson and Ochsner is about 3/4 of a mile down on your right. It's a huge complex and you really can't miss it.

Good luck with your child's procedure tomorrow.

Metairie??

You probably could not ask for safer areas in the metropolitan area than that.

We are kind of fricking with you a bit because all of us who live here know how absurd a question it is, but if you're not from here I guess you wouldn't know. Good luck to you.

I know. We had a place in the Bywater until a few years ago before things went south in the city. I'm pretty familiar with NOLA, though I have avoided going there at night for a few years.

You made all the locals laugh at this one. Metairie as a whole is very safe, but that area is 99% safe.

I had a friend who was a manager at the Hampton Inn on Causeway. He told me how stressful the job was,, and it was booked 100% every weekday 52 weeks a year, with corporate meetings, conventions, etc. I asked what the hell is so appealing about that place and area. His answer was the perceived dangers of staying in New Orleans freaked out the guests.
