Agreed about Fulmer and Carr. Maybe as to Miles and Carr.

Tressel over Stoops? How so?

Orgeron, he's truly one of the worst coaches I've ever seen. Bottom 3 that I've seen. What a fricking idiot he is.

Tressel gets the top spot because of his four FCS national titles.

Coker and Chizik are low because any coach could have guided those teams to the title.

These are rankings based in merely opinion and using only titles won by AP/UPI/BCS/CFP. I’m sure I’ve got all the coaches with just ONE title. If not, then whoops!

I think Stoops edges Tressel. He took his team to 4 BCS National Championship games, while Tressel took his team to 3.

They are close in winning % though:

Bob Stoops (at OU) 80%
Jim Tressel (at OSU) 82%
Pete Carroll (at USC) 84%
Nick Saban (at Alabama) 87%.

Fulmer - did it longer than Les
Miles - had th talent to win more than he did, but wheels never fell off on him either

Phil took over for Majors part way into '92 I think and left after '08. 16+ seasons. He won 4 SECE ('97, '98, '01, and '07), two SEC's ('97 and '98, and one natty ('98).

Les coached 11+ seasons and won 3 SECW, 2 SECs, and 1 natty.

IMO, Les faced better competition than Phil and almost matched his accomplishments in fewer seasons.

Would be interesting to see their records vs top-10.

Over the entire coaching career...

Miles’ teams have gone 45-33 against top 25 opponents.

Fulmer's teams went 44-37.

So they're almost equal.

Fulmer's record against Saban 1-4.

Miles' record against Saban 3-7.
