They can't prove you have an AR pistol with a brace (or any other accessories) without also admitting to illegally keeping records of the purchase to begin with.

I was talking to a manager of one of the largest gun stores in BR a few weeks ago. I know the guy fairly well and he said that the ATF is going to put the brace issue back in the hands of FFL dealers. If you bring a gun in for any type of work and it fails the point system they are going to require FFL holders, gunsmiths etc to report. He said it sucks but the ATF is going to be the hammer and the LGS the nail.
