Mike Jones and Micah Baskerville are 2 above average SEC starters Imo. Depth is a question mark though although I like Penn and Perkins talent a lot they haven’t really played yet.

D line and WR are stacked and will both be strong units. Honestly everything else is an unknown at this point.

PK
We have been accustomed to great field goal kickers for the last 10+ years.
TE is manageable : We have Mashburn and Cole, and Mason Taylor, and it won’t kill is like poor kicking could.

The fans who think everyone and everything associated with the team must be perfect or be immediately terminated.

Seriously TEs, it’s been spat out at nauseam, even by the Staff. Is this a trick ?

Linebackers, Tight Ends, Quarterbacks

Until the OL proves that they are much improved that will continue to be my biggest concern.

This is a good thread. It proves that LSU is strong at DL, WR, and Punter. And suspect everywhere else. There’s a reason the o/u is 7 wins.

The most important thing to control is the line of scrimmage. We are deep on D but unproven on the O. That being said they will be improved over the latest 4 years. Most cases we will only have two true LB’s on the field and the top 4 are good. RB is deep and WR. QB Deep but not at all impressive. CB slow, unproven, and not deep. Safety good enough but not deep enough. The place kicking game is a total unknown and suspect. Punting will be average. TE weak but serviceable.
QB is the weakest most important part of this team. CB may have help from the front 7 but not elite like we used to have.

Every other group seems to be loaded

Punters and kickers are usually the weakest.

TE. I think the OL and Secondary is going to be just fine actually. D Line is going to be our X factor.Hopefully we can win in the trenches on both sides of the ball

I have followed since 1995 at 10 years old. Since then, I have never said this sentence, but here it goes:
I cannot name 1 single CB on LSU’s roster without searching for it online.
This next one is a toughy. Big, hard truth pill to swallow, but here it goes.
LSU is not DBU right now.

Do we have a running back that has played an entire season without injury?

We don’t have depth at TE but it’s not a critical position on the field.
The secondary has been gutted and we don’t have any depth past the transfers we’ve added. It’s also one of the most important position groups with how the passing game has evolved.
OL has enough bodies…we’ll see if they are talented enough.

Oline until proven otherwise because without it every other player on O are irrelevant.

I wouldn’t say cb is fine
What works in our favor is that we have passable depth now with transfers and we have a DC who is an expert in playing and teach zone and working around deficiencies and limiting big plays. That will hopefully offset some of the potential issues.
