This is something our builder decided to go with in our beds. I thought i liked it because it looked like mini bamboo. Come to find out , this shite spreads like wildfire and is pretty difficult to contain so now I hate it. Looking for ways to treat this and eradicate it from our landscapes and replace it with maybe just damn rocks or gravel . Ive sprayed this stuff before with glysophate and it seems pretty resilient. tips

If you have this stuff in the UK you are unable to sell the house/get a mortgage. I would be very surprised if the builder decided to put it in.

I think I would move, no joke. That's coming from someone fighting a bamboo infestation. Knotweed roots can grow multiple feet deep and yards wide. It's significantly worse than bamboo by a large margin.
If it's any help, the way I've knocked back the bamboo is manually digging up rhizomes, cutting the stalks almost down to the earth and pouring in a little bit of max strength glyphosate directly into the open stalk right after it's freshly cut. In hindsight i probably should've rented a mini excavator to dig because it was hard work.

Sue your builder. Terms are he buys your house at market cost and covers closing closing plus inflation prices at your new house.

real talk assuming this stuff is currently confined to a bed/beds. Hire a landscaper with an excavator and have him completely excavate the bed at least a foot down maybe two. Leave the bed open the rest of the summer (pump it out when needed) and aggressively kill any shoots. This winter you can fill in back in and start over

What cgrand said. Just hope it hasn't escaped the beds yet.
After that, check with your builder to make sure he didn't install some Asian carp and nutria in your pond or wild hogs in your woods.
