My first thought when I saw the topic.

I would also say Don Dokken. Not a great singer, but his vocals, especially the ability get into a higher register, really fit with Dokken's sound and George Lynch's guitar.

On the country side, Tracy Lawrence... my wife loves him and I think he can't sing for shite, all nasally and minimal range, but it works.

No Lemmy from Motorhead? That guy had no range with a raspy sounding voice but it worked for him and the band and obviously they were very successful.
