Culturally the low country starts in Georgetown and goes south to Amelia Island in FL. Essentially where all the rice plantations were.
The grand strand likes to take claim but they would be wrong.
Geologically it starts at Bulls Bay and stretches south to Amelia Island, FL.

So you wouldn't consider Murrels Inlet in the Low Country? They sure do

Georgetown is part of the Pee Dee region (not technically low country) along with Murrells Inlet / Myrtle Beach / Conway. There are rice fields all the way up to Darlington.
