Why does this trans acceptance stuff become such an important thing? We are talking about a tiny, miniscule fraction of the population at large. They're not a voting bloc. So why? What the hell is the point?

We are not talking about a miniscule fraction of the population in the academies. It is a movement that has been growing steadily since the 60s and until recently was ignored because it was thought the ideology wouldn't last in the real world. This has proven false.
The end goal of the ideology is to overturn all systems it deems oppressive which is pretty much all of them.
