People take the Bible too literally without understanding the men of the time had no concept of science or the modern calendar we use.

I’ve long believed that the 7 days of creation was actually millions of years. Who knows what a “day” is in Gods time. Science and evolution show that things evolved in the order the Bible says it was created. The timeframe is simply semantics and really not relevant

It is the height of human arrogance to assume that you could perceive space and time on the level of a being capable of creating the universe and take the Bible as literal fact and yet have to dumb it down into “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.”

I think if you’re solely focusing the debate on how literal 7 days is, then you’re kind of missing the point of the whole thing.

Edit: Just want to remind everyone that we’re literally debating “Boys have a penis girls have a vagina” all over the world right now. But science and stuff.

So you don’t believe the Bible to be divine inspiration on behalf of the authors? Did men write the Bible or did God write the Bible through men?
