Mumford and Sons and Baba Maal. Live in S. Africa

I am not even a Mumford fan, but I came across this video and feel it must have been a transcendent experience to see this live.

Imagine being in Paris in the 1930’s, wandering into a club and witnessing a set from these guys Django Reinhardt.

Hendrix at Monterey Pop Festival was also my first thought. No one had seen anything like it before. Must have been mind blowing.

“Backstage before their sets, Hendrix played his guitar while staring at guitarist Pete Townshend, who denied the assumption that they were jamming together. Townshend said later, "It was just Jimi on a chair playing at me. Playing at me like 'Don't frick with me, you little shite”

The festival was also Janice Joplin’s coming out party. Love the look on Mama Cass Elliot’s face watching Joplin perform.

Lynyrd Skynyrd at LSU AC in 1977. My older bro and sis were taking me at 5 yrs old, we lived in Southdowns.

No pics or video, and you know why.

Rockpiile - Live on Friday’s 1980

Actually, any live Rockpile show from 1977 - 1980 would work.

No video, but I'd wish I could go back in time and be a passenger on one of the riverboats where the likes of King Oliver and Sidney Bechet were playing, back in the late-1910s. Especially as I don't believe either made their recording debuts until around '23 or so.
