Yeah, but that doesn’t change what I think Tolkien’s implications were in the books. Granted we’ve known for months that Hobbits would be in it.

They’ve been trying to hide everything from us when Jackson was extremely transparent and accessible with the fans on his projects.

What access did you have in 2001-2003? What did he do then to be “transparent”

Which is also an insane requirement for a TVshow

There are definitely people who read books and feel like the only think that could be good would be a page by page remake.

He had tons of vlogs, blogs, and Q&As with the fans. He kept us exceptionally updated on how the filming and production was going. Like he’d take cameras into the armory, the costume room, make up sets, miniatures set, special effects room, he truly gave it to us all and was exceptionally confident in the project.

Jackson knew that he didn’t make the Lord of the Rings and didn’t put in his own dumb ideas into it. Jackson knew he was simply a fan who was lucky enough to bring Tolkien’s vision and world to the big screen, so he acted like a fan and didn’t treat us any differently because he was not better than we were.

Meanwhile with this fricking show they are saying how they’re right, how they and not the actual fans know what Tolkien was going for, and if you disagree with us, then frick you, you are a racist. It’s so fricking condescending. They fricked with the wrong fanbase this time.

No, what we’re pissed about is this is completely opposed to the spirit of the books. Anything we’ve heard come out of these frickers mouth has been bad and condescending. They preliminarily declared war on the fanbase as a whole, and we’re not going to take it.

If this were the first I’d heard about this series I’d be excited. The thought of the seeing the two trees, the darkening, the flight of the noldor.

But I still have little to no faith in this project, given the publicity so far.

Maybe, just maybe, you’re a douche.

You think you’re special and have some kind of ownership, and you’re really just a douche.

The fans are pretty united on this, dude. It’s just not me saying this, more like 95% of the fans saying it.

That easy for you to say when you discount everyone who doesn’t agree with you.

Because they don’t have an argument they can use to refute what the fanbase is saying.

They definitely toned down the woke factor in this trailer and made it look good. But that doesn't mean it will be the same in the actual series.

Maybe Bezos did get the message and ordered cuts to all the modern progressive political garbage the producers were sticking in there?

More likely they are just hiding it in this trailer and the "Agenda" will still be front and center in the series. They just want to brag about huge streaming numbers for the first episode, which they will get.

Whether it is successful long term or not is almost a moot point. Everyone has Prime anyway so not like Amazon is hurt if it fails.
