Here’s a question. Why do people care about summer being the “best” time of year? Is it waxing nostalgic about being a kid? Or is it the fact that people have kids?

The best times of year here in NC are spring and fall and they are amazing. Winter is a breeze and summer is fine.

Springtime is kind of funny up north. 40 degrees and dudes are wearing shorts and t shirts.

Nice place. Was there last October. It was my first introduction to "RV garages" that are also in almost all new construction in Boise as well.

I got roofied and robbed in downtown Bozo last night...had to sleep out on the street because my phone was dead and they took my keys. I thought it was nice that every night was pretty cool until I had to sleep in it with no warmth.

I’ve been in western PA for the past 6 years. Spent 12 years between south LA and Houston. I’ll take the mild winters here over the hell that is summer in the south. We get maybe 10 days over 90 every year. And the winters aren’t that bad. I can layer up and plan for the cold. Can only take off so much when it’s a burning hellfire temperature down there.

I can put on a lot of clothes to stay warm.

I can only take off so many pieces of clothing before people start pointing and laughing.

I was winding down the work day at a local dive. Lost consciousness around...9? Came to around 3 or 4 on a bench a few miles away. My cash and keys were taken. Spent a few hours looking to see if I had just dropped the keys, to no avail. Ended up sleeping underneath a tree next to my car until shite opened up and I could charge my phone and get an Uber home.

There's a reason the south was relatively unpopulated prior to air conditioning.

Massachusetts here: l overwhelmingly prefer the New England winter over Louisiana summers.

I say one can always put more clothes on, but can’t take more off.

Plus it’s fun to drive in the snow imo as long as you aren’t surrounded by idiots; sliding around corners etc.

It’s also freaking awesome to have 4 distinct seasons.

While stationed in Florida we would tell the new guys that winters were no picnic and to make sure sure they had all their cold weather gear. Many of them would laugh and say that they were from Michigan or Ohio or some other place up north and we didn’t know what cold was.

The first night on mid shift it would get into the 30’s they be standing around shivering with a “WTF is happening” look on their face. They didn’t want that smoke the humidity was trying to give them.

Here are the average humidity charts for New Orleans and Anchorage.

The winter humidity argument is generally bunk.

Hadn't heard that name in a while. One of my very first farm gigs was for an old hippie on his family farm there. Talk about a sleepy little town.

Crystal. I don't go to Bar IX unless it's bucket night and I feel like being nearly twice the age of everyone present.
