I am wondering if anyone has actually taken advantage of this? Longtime Marriott member. A few times a year I get an offer to go someplace nice for 4 days and 3 nights at an incredible price. Vegas was $199, total for 3 nights. Right off the strip. All I need to do is reserve AND when I am there spend 90 minutes at a presentation. I can get through that.
Are these worth it? Just don’t want to be constantly hassled while there. No intent on joining anything. Thanks

I would pay $500 a night before I sat through one of those presentations ever again. Enough said.

It's a trap!!!

I did this with Hilton Vacations earlier this year. Had a good time except for the presentation. I was not harassed by Hilton while I enjoyed the venue; just had to endure them when going through the 'presentation'.

A timeshare by any other name is still a timeshare. After we turned down their offers, we checked online revues of Hilton Vacations. Would have paid good money for places we had zero chance getting. Seems the 'shares of the vacation property' are oversold, since no one online could get a vacation spot; even when they tried within the first few minutes of scheduling opened.

If you go for the fun of Vegas while you wait for your presentation with the commitment of "No means no", then take them up on the offer.

90 min presentations are rarely 90 min. You’ll be taken away and 3 hours will be gone before you wonder if you’re being trafficked.

I did it with Marriott recently. It was at a Westin resort in Cancun at $199 for 4 days. They gave me 15000 points for showing up and another 15000 for sitting through the presentation. They never mentioned the presentation part until I arrived. I was like sure.

Now I'm signed up for 5 days in Cabo at their club resort for $1000 plus they're giving me 50K points to sit through another meeting.

I had a great time talking to 3 hot Mexican chicks. The first Mexican chick greeted me in their large office area of the hotel. Then the Mexican sales lady came and got me. I think I impressed her because she's lived all over the place with her job and I knew about those areas. But then it got weird when the Mexican sales chick brought in their "closer." The dude was an older American guy with a ponytail. He instantly gave me sleazy vibes. All both of them did was scribble a bunch of confusing shite on a piece of paper and were like do this awesome deal now, because it won't be here tomorrow. I acted interested, but I declined the offer.

Then I had to sit with another hot Mexican chick for a closing interview. It was basically questions on what they could have done better. I told the chick that I don't just sign stuff without breaking the numbers down in my head to determine if it's a good investment. I said they made it confusing on purpose and didn't present proper materials for me to get a clear understanding of what I was purchasing. I also mentioned the old guy needs to cut his hair and look more professional.

I should have just told them up front that I'm a backpacker at heart and I don't care about their fancy resorts. I just want a clean bed to sleep in without all the overpriced luxuries and use my money towards extending my vacation a few extra days.

Figure out what the cost savings will be, assume 3 hours, and decide if your 3 hours is worth what it will save you.

I stayed at a Hilton vacations one in Orlando. I was all for sitting through their crap to get the freebies but they said my wife had to sit through it too. I then asked what they would like me to do with my 3 kids during this and they said bring them too. Needless to say we didn’t sit through the presentation
