Watched the game on Saturday and just watched some of the extended highlights...there is nobody in the squad like Kulusevski. We stumbled into an absolute gem last January. He has a crazy combination of pace, strength, stamina, and end product. He allows Kane to get into much more dangerous positions and I feel a lot better about our chances with him in the squad. I hope we can keep him healthy the second half of the season because he is the catalyst for everything we do going forward.

You're right about a lot of this.
It's strange to me how good he is, or even how much more noticeably better we are with him. I say strange because physically he doesn't look like much, and it's not like he plays with any distinctly stylistic flair. He doesn't even look fast, and is somewhat rigid when making turns. But for some reason it just happens and works.
Anyone else see that as well?

Hugo’s stance on WC protest
Probably the best job I’ve ever seen an athlete do on one of these topics.

I get what you’re saying. I think people underestimate his size. At 6ft 1 he has the size to shield defenders from
the ball and he uses his body really well to get on the wrong side of defenders so they either have to foul him or let him continue his run.
I don’t think he has elite top end speed and nothing he does jumps off the screen as fast, but he uses changes of pace extremely well. The fourth goal was a a perfect example of how deceptive he is in the final third. Everyone in that stadium expected him to cross it or cut in on his left foot, but he starts the move for a cross and then pushes it past the defender to take him on with his right foot and go around him. He is just brilliant at making the right decision in those spots.

Best EPL showing at the Cup so far? I'm sure someone, somewhere is keeping track.

Nothing wrong with a beige kit if done right. Honestly Nike has set the bar lower than the floor with this year's away kit, which looks more like a warm water wetsuit than a soccer jersey. It literally cannot get worse than this:

Beige is one of those colors where it either looks awesome or embarrassing

I’m so thankful inter didn’t accept our offer for Lautaro Martinez.
I haven’t watched a lot of him at inter, but he looked so slow in that game yesterday. I realize he really didn’t play much, but man talk about underwhelming.
