Man, I have never seen as complete a collection as yours! Where on earth did you get coach’s film from the ‘30s?

I've been helping Tiger fans get copies of their favorite games for over 40 years. First as VHS, then DVDs and now digital files on thumb drives. I was an active trader for many years and that's how I got all those coach's tapes of real old games. I decided they really don't appeal to me very much so I no longer trade for them. See my website for games I know were televised that I keep hoping someone will find a copy stored in some local TV station's archives. Its been many years since any old game showed up.

How much do you charge for a single dvd copy of a game?

Kind of related:
Years ago, when I did collect vintage LSU memorabilia (hence my user name), I found on eBay an 8mm home movie. The box said “LSU vs Tulane 62-0”. I knew we beat Tulane three times in five years with the score of 62-0 (1958 & two in early 60’s).
I bought the film for $10. I send it off to get placed on DVD. When I got it back, I discovered it was the 1958 game, basically the National Championship game.
Unfortunately, there was so much filmed the first half, only about half of the third quarter was filmed, and none of the fourth quarter.
I did see a super clear play where a friend’s dad (Scooter Purvis) was running out right to run block, he gets leveled. Mr. Scooter is not a big guy, 5’7” maybe. That giant Tulane DB laid him out like rag doll. I showed Mr. Scooter the play and he says he remembers that play like it was yesterday. He said it rung his bell.
I sold the movie and DVD for something like $500. Probably worth about $2000 now.
Questions:
Are you the one that bought the film from me?
Do you have the 78 Kentucky bball game? It was my first ever LSU game (in any sport). I was there with my Cub Scout group. I don’t remember the actual game, I only remember the crowd was going crazy.

do you happen to have any baseball games from the late 80's?

I do have some CWS games from the late '80s. See www.LSUMac.com
For baseball I usually only record post season games.

I see you have the 1984 LSU-USC game, that is one of the holy grails of LSU games. It was discussed on here the other day how even highlights are hard to come by, there are literally none on youtube.
I went to that game. I remember some USC fan who sat in front of us turned to their friend and said “Look how big they are!” in reference to our O-line. If I remember correctly, the Tigers drove down the field on the opening drive but lost possession on a fumble. The USC fans were excited at the turnover but didn’t see the big picture that their defense was getting abused. The game was forgettable except for the venue and atmosphere. It was a letdown after hearing of the game in BR a few years earlier.

Sorry, I got away from the posts here to deal with other DVD conversions. Please get back to me if you were expecting a reply from me.

Try doing a search. There’s a young man on here who collects old VHS tapes of games. It is cool, but I also think most of them can be found on YouTube.
