App to text from my Android to my kids ipad

Either I'm dumb or this is harder than it should be. Can someone tell me an easy app that both if us can use to send messages back and forth?
I figured just put Whatsapp on the iPad, but it said there wasn't a version that would work on it. TIA

If you have facebook, they have a messenger for kids.
I havent used it to much so other than knowing its there I cant help to much.

Facebook messenger is easiest, we have a house divided and that is what we use for the family.

There are a number of ways to get a free VOIP number for the device to use on wifi... there are literally dozens of apps that do this.

Google chat works good. My daughter has iPhone and I have android. Does the job.

I had this situation earlier this year Ava I ended up getting the iPhone 13.
I don’t care what anyone says, there are several things that are better with a Samsung phone but if you want to connect everything and just make it easier switch over to the iPhone platform.
It takes about a month to get used to it but I promise Samsung phones are easier and more user friendly than iPhones. The one positive is the Samsung phone stays charged Way longer.
