Louisiana isn’t plentiful at all positions. Typically, we have to go out of state for certain positions. I agree with your statement though. SEC caliber players in the state can’t get away.

Like QB since the mid 80’s early 90’s until last couple of years. But WR, CB, RB have always been plentiful.
Also, I’ve always thought of everything over to Houston as annexed to La. It was more of a surprise at one time that a player LSU was after there went somewhere else.

Something to think about since the majority of these recent commits are DE and Edge guys.
Almost all of the most productive guys(led team in sacks) at these positions that have played for LSU recently have been from OOS.
Melvin Oliver
Sam Montgomery
Lewis Neal
Arden Key
K’Lavon Chaisson
BJ Ojulari
Compare their production against the in-state guys like Jackson, Pittman, Alem, Mingo, Rasco, and Anthony.

Oh, how quickly the past has been forgotten. History has proven that losing Louisiana boys to other schools has been costly for LSU.

Right now LSU is fighting just to get 2, if lucky 3, of the top 10 players in Louisiana.
It may be the worse results in Louisiana since well before Saban.

No they don’t. It’s a proven winner
And when coach O tried it, it flopped

This is a weak year for Louisiana. BK said he wants to make it an emphasis in recruiting but this isn't really the year. It's one of the weaker years recently. Some studs at the top but they're pushing national presence because it's not loaded enough past the top 10. That plus they have no shot with several in the top 10 hence the harder push to replace the same blue chip talent with someone out of state. Is what it is.

You will have many disagreeing with you but you’re right. LSU needs to be able to recruit nationally right now since Orgeron basically ignored so many local kids for the last 2 years.
It’s gonna take Kelly another year to fix the damage that bozo caused.
So many local kids have the anywhere but LSU mindset right now that we must offset them with national kids but hopefully Kelly can make it the place to be in the eyes of the locals again soon

Kelly wants more Louisiana players. NIL and a unique QB year makes it look worse than it is in state. He’s adding LA transfers and walk ins and building relationships in state. It’ll come.

LSU isn’t going to win a national championship if we lose 7/10 or 8/10 of the top Louisiana recruits every single year. Simple as that.

LSU baseball's number 1 recruiting class only has 2 LA people in it. You sure about this?
We’re talking about football here..

Yup my bad on that one, I don’t know why I was thinking Fla.

I strongly disagree. It's a necessary evil this year and it's a strategy that can work if your home state doesn't produce talent, but it's harder to maintain. If you're hiring rising stars like you want to, there's constantly significant coaching turnover in your staff, and it's a lot easier to convince a guy from Alabama to coach at LSU than it is to convince a guy from Minnesota to do the same. Plus while you can convince a Minnesota kid to come when times are good, they have no inherent connection to the school and aren't going to come when times aren't good.
...and I'm realizing that Minnesota was not the best choice of state because Jaxon Howard is a stud, but I'm keeping it.

I think they're focusing out of state because this isnt one of the stronger in state classes, and a lot of guys didn't even consider LSU from the jump (Tackett Curtis, Arch Manning) You'll see more in state recruiting next year and at the tail end of this cycle

BK has already brought in a bunch LA guys from other schools in the transfer portal.
We're gonna get Sampson, Heard, Jackson, Stamps, Adams, Fields, and Jackson out of LA in addition to who we already have.

3 players with 5 stars and another 14 with 4 stars is NOT a "weak year for Louisiana."
It appears that LSU is getting their clock cleaned by out of state teams walking in and getting the best Louisiana talent. Fact.
Use all the excuses you want but right now this is looking like the weakest LSU instate class since way before Saban.

The reason for loosing some QB's is because of Howard and Nuss. The reason we lost Manning is because of his Grandfather and Uncles.
