This is the approach we have taken for years in basketball, baseball, gymnastics, etc.

Local coaches are infamous for expecting LSU to bend over backwards, only to give other schools who offer their players later, a free pass.

LSU baseball's number 1 recruiting class only has 2 LA people in it. You sure about this?

You’re right. Those burrow, chaisson, Delpit guys really set the program back.

Baseball and football are completely different when it comes to building a roster

There’s a reason coaches from across the country covet Louisiana kids

I’m not sure I agree with the national recruiting. I want players that bleed purple and gold.

Don’t get me wrong….it’s good to get a few players outside LSU’s main recruiting footprint. But they have no ties to Louisiana and LSU and can now easily bolt to another school….both before and after signing.

I want most of the players to be from close to home.

Well if they want in, then commit and stick too it. If they want to play games and hold out for the best offer, then I believe we should go get kids that want to be here.

Louisiana kids that say LSU is their “Dream offer/school” should be the first to commit and lead the charge shouldn’t they? The “Business Decision” crew can kick rocks

Good luck winning consistently letting the best players in Louisiana out of state…it does damage that takes YEARS to undo.

Louisiana players will always be critical to LSUs success but LSU should never be held hostage by these same players dragging their feet.

I agree with you for once.

And if the top in state players are going to SEC schools, that’s a problem

This national approach has a lot to do with BK and them building relationships with these two players from having to take a National approach because of Notre Dame…the next class should be more Louisiana players having been there for a year by then…

Louisiana should always be drained of talent by LSU, but obviously, some players are drawn by other temptations or offers to go elsewhere. This year's class is one of those oddities. Arch, Eli, Tackett Curtis, Williams, etc have not even glanced our way. Fortunately BK and, much of his staff, has been recruiting nationally prior to this season. We will get our 8-12 Louisiana players and supplement that nationally and from the portal to fill out our class.

We need to get past this Louisiana approach. If a Louisiana coach and/or player wants to bllsht around with us, then we take an equally rated national player.

As long as we re-capture the LA top 10-15, we will thrive. We're not going to dominate in transition years. I expect us to take Louisiana next year after this staff have set up shop here for some time. Please look at where some of our best players have come from. We would not had the success we have had without them.

Patrick Peterson - FL; Dwayne Bowe - FL; Jamal Adams - TX; Delpit - TX; Joey B. - Ohio; Rickey Jean-Francois - FL; Joseph Addai - TX; Chaisson - TX; Arden Key - GA; Kevin Minter - GA; Kwon Alexander - AL; Thad Moss - NC; Michael Brockers - TX; Jalen Collins - MS; Spencer Ware - Ohio; Jalen Mills - TX; Brad Wing - Aussie; JC Copeland - GA; Danielle Hunter - TX...and so on.

Well...at the very least, it's encouraging to see the coaches can reach outside the state when necessary.
