Yes, it sounds fine but do you think those schools want to be associated with Cincinnati? The Big XII jumped the gun by adding teams just to get to a number. They watered down the conference through their own doing.
The PAC still has major programs and strong academics. The Big XII's only positive is that it has a few schools in Texas that no one else really wants.

Oklahoma State, Tech and K State have pretty big followings. They’d be worth considering but academics wise, TCU & Baylor offer a lot.
Not sure how much basketball plays a role but the Big12 is a legit basketball conference and the pac12 would gain from merging.

Why wouldn't they? It's certainly a stronger brand than Wazzou or Oregon St. And they bring basketball to the table along with a solid football program.
