I'm pretty excited to see where this is all leading with transfers that are coming in and the potential freshman class post MLB draft. From a pure talent perspective, I don't know that there will be a more talented group in college baseball next year. But with all that talent comes some really interesting decisions that will have to be made.

You now have 3 upper classman short stops on the roster. Pineda and Young are draft eligible so we'll see what happens there, but neither are high on the board.

Tommy "Tanks" comes in as a 1B/3B and we all know who will be playing 1B, so this one will be interesting to see. Thompson could slide over or move to 2B. I did a little digging and White was the highest rated 3rd Baseman in the country coming out of high school, per Perfect Game.

Where it really gets interesting, especially on the infield, is if both Romero and Toman make it to campus. They're both really, really good.

OF will also be really interesting. We know Crews and Pearson are pretty much set in stone. If Crawford and Kling both make it on campus.... holy shite.

JJ has done a really great job getting some elite arms on via the portal and will have some coming in. I'm far less worried about pitching than I was at this time last year.

So, all that said, I don't know what the starting lineup will look like. I do think we'll lose another 2 or 3 more to the transfer portal though. Especially if the draft works out in LSU's favor.

Hard to determine anything until the transfer portal settles down and after the MLB draft. Then we can have a much more educated discussion about this

Toman and Crawford both have no chance of making it to campus.

Tommy White may have been the top ranked 3B coming out of high school but that is because of the bat, not the defense. He may be fine at 3B, we will have to see. I'd imagine he wouldn't have come here unless he had a position to be able to play. Unless Jay made a deal to play him a little bit next season and DH him, then he can play 1B or 3B in 2024.

The lineup will be fine however jay draws it up. The biggest question is the rotation. That’s where the draft is gonna play the biggest part

I like your enthusiasm. However, you listed a lot of kids who will be off the board in the draft in the top 5 rounds, with several in the top 2 rounds. Hold out hope, but I would temper the excitement level.

Here is a stat for you. Of the 312 players drafted in the top 10 rounds of last year's MLB draft, only 2 did not sign. Kumar Rocker and Jud Fabian and the Mets had a deal with Rocker but declined to sign him due to medical issues found in his physical. Basic rule of thumb - if a name is called in the top 10 rounds it is because a deal has been made prior to the announcement of the pick.
