What's the financial penalty? The SEC does not have a GOR. I mean is there any legal recourse? Could Texas say they changed their mind? Could Aggie leave? What are the penalties? I don't think the SEC has any. The money would dwarf anything the SEC can add at this point.

Why would they want Texas A&M

Its a faux University

The entire gimmick of the entire shithole is an inflated endowment that means nothing

Texas A&M takes orders from and bows down to Battelle located on Ohio State's campus and Ohio State does not even include it in their endowment for example.

Its a second class place

There’s a better chance of Ohio State and Michigan joining the SEC

In this scenario you’re putting a whole lot of faith in UCLA and USC actually sticking to a commitment for football (and athletics in general) and fans from both schools actually wanting to watch it and give a shite. On top of that the issue for the Big 10 in this deal is finding the perfect TV slots every week with a cross-country super conference. Other than Thanksgiving weekend you’re looking at USC and UCLA finding it hard pressed to get a nice CST afternoon or EST early afternoon slot every weekend that works for everybody, let alone a primetime game. Most weeks they’re gonna be looking at super early for the west coast or late-super late for the hardcore Big 10 fans, and somewhat late for the general college football fan in the CST who doesn’t have their favorite playing that night. I just don’t see where the B10 is really gaining in a market here, just seems like because of the time change they’ll lose a fair amount of viewership in one or the other markets (outside of big marquee games that may at best happen 3-4 times a year); and even in a big marquee game could be competing against a big grudge match in a primetime slot from the SEC.

Interesting. Matchups with Nebraska, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, USC in a conference that actually has you play other teams in the conference - beats the hell outta being forced to play South Carolina for some reason every year.

Plus, we’d likely pick up lacrosse as a spring sport.
