you seem happy to roll that dice for the OP

well that doesn't seem optimal

clearly you should go with alxtiger's suggestion he's the brains of this outfit and he's got the ebay sellers with warehouses of this crap stacked in a corner to prove it!
Damn, I wish everything were this easy.

wow much testy. i'm sure he's heartbroken you won't continue to sing the praises of a discontinued dongle.
and yes, OP. probably best to avoid obsolete tech that is mired in a nasty lawsuit that could render it inoperable at any time as the basis of your audio system.

Alx is a little fragile when it comes to his dongle. In my defense I was just letting you know that might not be a great option and he flipped out.

Another thread derailed by CAD. Somethings never change.
Look up the WiiM product. Couple paired with a two zone or two individual dumb amps would work.

His lack of self-awareness is truly sad.

I found a 5.1 receiver at Goodwill with separate RCA inputs for each channel pair. Paid $40ish. This can give you 2 separate zones. A 7.2 reciever can give you 3 zones.
I then got 2 echo dots for each zone, one for the room, and one for the reciever. Paired them so that when I talk to Alexa in the room, the output is through the echo dot located at the reciever.
I use this setup for 8 zones using 4 receivers. If you can wait on the echo dots, they often go on sale for $20.

I have his email when I asked about his amps a while back. They're all S1 sonos software only which I think is no big deal if you're not heavily invested into newer sonos stuff that runs S2 software.

OP, you could try Accessories4Less.
I think most of what they sell are factory refurbished pieces. I bought a receiver from them 4 years ago and have had zero issues with it working.
1 piece of advice is to make sure you can independently control each zone. The one I bought was a dual zone but I couldn't independently control the volume levels. Thankfully this was fixed a year or 2 later by a firmware and software update.
