To me the question isn’t if he can pitch or if he wants to. The question is how effective will he be throwing over 200 pitches in a 5 day stretch then having to pitch again in 3 days.

Poche is the best example. He didnt have the most elite stuff but always battled.

Absolutely, Poche battled hard and was never going to be a top draft pick.

Bianco has done a good job in developing several pitchers on this staff. Mallitz (sp?) was ineffective last year but developed a slider that is dynamite. DeLucia started out in the bullpen tbis season but has progressed to #1 starter throughout the season. Also, few catchers are better than Dunhurst at framing pitches and stealing a few strikes throughout a game.
