Last night was my first SEC game which was the LSU vs. SC game. Being a graduate from Clemson, they are my fav. but I almost went to LSU for grad school, so I root for them in the SEC. A USC friend of mine let me go to the game with him and we sat beside the vistors (LSU) section.

It was my first experience with a group of LSU fans and was severely disappointed. I witnessed some of the most rude, profane, selfish, disrespectful, and maliciously hateful behavior of any group of people I have ever seen? It wasn't just a select few, the majority of the LSU fans I saw were acting in this manner?

I felt pretty sorry for my in state rival friends, the onslaught lasted throughout the game. It was a big letdown to me personally. As a Clemson fan, we lose quiet a bit, especially this year, but I have never seen treatment of another team's fans anywhere close to this. No even from the instate rivalry game.

2 questions:

1. Is this type of behavior pretty much the norm for LSU fans in general?

2. Is it cultural or just specific to the traveling, away game fanbase?

Could you give us some examples of what you think is the "rudest thing you've ever seen"?

If you think what you saw was bad don't come to the LSU/Bama game. Or the LSU/UGA, LSU/Ole Miss game for that matter.

To answer your question honestly and seriously... no.

As LSU fans, we believe the opposing fans are the worst of all our enemies, and on gamedays, worse than Al Qaeda. Before sacrificing small domesticated animals at our pregame tailgating spots, slowly and torturously mind you, we like to find the cutest little kids opposing fans have with them, and rub their faces in the animal entrails.

When the parents of said children of opposing team attempt to intervene, we hogtie the men and force them to watch us rape and pillage their women. We believe in mercilessly beating opposing fans who dare cast an eye in our direction or who don't vehemently and unconditionally submit to LSU's magnificence and superiority.

The behavior you saw was absolutely not typical of LSU fans in general, those fans must have just been pussies.

It's our fans in general. Not all, but most are rude, disrespectful, & obnoxious. Yet, they're the first to call other fans classless.
Many like to confuse this type of behavior as with being loyal and passionate.
But, LSU isn't the only SEC school with fans that exhibit the type of behavior you described.
Florida, Ole Miss, & UGA have similar acting fans.

The home team wearing shirts & hats with various "cocks" innuendo on it doesn't bother you though?

Don't you just love blanket statements that cover all fans in the same category.

Dude, seriously, any time drinking and people are showing their arse and they align with any team...doesn't mean all are like the idiots you witnessed.

In my experience, the level of jerk fans has not been as bad as it once was. I will however, agree, that you can't fix stupid!

I think its gotten worse the last few years. We do have a "don't give a crap" attitude amongst some of our fans, who have a blatant disregard for attempting to represent themselves and the school, with some dignity.

You will find bad fans everywhere - my personal least favorite has been Ole Piss - for years - number 1 in bad fan behavior towards the visiting fans. A few years ago - their theme for the Eli game was "go to hell LSU" complete with clever t-shirts to this effect all over the place.

Sorry for the experience you had - it is the duty for the old guard at games to get on unruly fans, no matter what school it is.

My question for you is:

Are your posts always this stupid or just this one?

In 1963, LSU played Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Not only did we beat Texas that day, we also served fresh hot steaks, hamburgers to the Texas faithful during the game.

When the game was over it was discovered that Bevo (their bull mascot) was missing, or at least no one recognized him, but they say he tasted pretty good.

True story

Sorry for the bad experience... we have some bad fans.

I've seen similar things happen coming from LSU fans before, but this is certainly not the norm.

Oh and ignore the rantards.

i was wearing purple and gold the entire day in columbia. most of usc's fans were great. however, i was told to die by a lady in a wheel chair. i was told to go to hell more times than i can count. the corn dog thing got old early on. if any one else asks me where ryan perrilloux is, i may kill them. i was told that i was a piece of shite and that we all would burn in hell... its all good though. we all must realize that there are plenty of idiots in the world. my favorite part was after the interception when i could turn around to the folks behind me and put my finger to my lips and say shhhh....we just won.

excitement.

You should have been in and around SC fans. You're opinion may be different. As for the rest, it's BS.
