I think State has the ability to play well, though it really appears they tossed it in against Tennessee. I did not see that one coming so one sided.

I think we ran plays. I don't think a team should just stop playing. We weren't trying to pass our way to another TD and thus stop the clock. We ran some rushing plays - they get in fine - if not we take a knee on 4th down.

Its not like Florida still throwing deep up by 25. What is it with Florida by the way - they are the kings of running up the score if possible. This was standard OP under Spurrier, and now Meyer feels the same way.

Richt is a great coach as much as I hate to admit it. Look, UGA was not consistently playing up to their potential before him since the early 80s. Since the Herschel Walker days, they were rarly mentioned as National Title contenders. Paterno, Bowden, and Osborne didnt win titles until decades into their careers and all three of those programs had success that LSU could only dream of, including our recent 8 year run.

What about Miles calling for a fake punt in the 4th quarter when we were crushing Miami in the Peach Bowl?

Do you remember the a-hole crap the Miami players did to LSU that year? On classless bastards like that you run up the score.

I have watched his coaching show several times this year and I think he is also smug. He acts like it is beneath him to have to communicate with the host of the show and the average fan. I have always like him until I started watching the show and it is easy to tell that he thinks he is way better than the average person.

. . . . . . . we ran KW straight into the line 3 times following SC timeouts.

If CS is in the game on those calls we score. If we fake the dive and pitch outside to KW, we score. If we do play action and toss to the TE, we score. If we bring in Colt David on 4th down we score. Maybe our coaches couldn't figure that out?

or maybe they were trying to run out the clock with class?

. . . . . . . . .so . . . dude . . . what's your point?

i for one agree that taking a knee is the right thing to do, but its going to cost us poll positions. No one is going to look at USC running up 69 on w. state and not think about moving them up a spot or two. It's not really logical, but it happens.

Who cares if Richt runs up the score? The purpose is to score points. The other team is supposed to stop you.

LOL. 2 choices in that situation. Kneel on it, Give Vandy the ball with time for 1 or 2 plays (what happens if they score a TD to tie it up?) or kick the FG and put the game completely out of reach.

You're not very bright.

I have to agree with the Bama fan - I found him sort of unlikable - as though his precious time was somehow being robbed from him, that he could better spend doing something else.

Was sort of surprised actually - thought he was as decent guy and he may well be, just needs to be a little happier and enthusiastic about his interview requirements. They are not only a reflection of himself, but also the university he represents.

How is Richt selfish? I'm not a huge fan of the guy, but it's not like he threw a long pass at the end of the game. And there was time left on the clock. If Georgia didn't get a first down, it would have been Vandy's ball. They had to kick the field goal. What should he have done?

If where up by 17 kicking to make it 20, I would agree. This is a different situation. They were up by 7 - a block and a return - game is tied. Would you rather lose or win a good game by 7.

It was a very stupid needless coaching decision.

im usually mild mannered on these forums, but you are so fricking wrong and ignorant on this issue it's pathetic. first of all Richt ALWAYS sits on what he's got when a win is in hand. he has NEVER EVER gone for for style points. NOT ONE frickING TIME - got it?

in this case our true frosh fg kicker had missed his first two fg attempts and i bet richt wanted to give him a chance to get his head on straight before we come to br. if you recall during our last trip to tiger stadium our kicker missed 3 fgs. a-hole.

How much time was going to be left on the clock? And wasn't it 4th down?

Wow...anyone calling Mark Richt an a-hole for kicking a field goal in an attempt to get his kicker's confidence up when it's fourth down and he can't run the clock out is pretty much completely stupid.

I bet you idiots would also call him a classless a-hole is he did go for it instead of kicking a FG in order to run the clock down because he tried to convert a fourth down instead of kicking a field goal. Morons.

Your wrong about the Miami peach bowl game. Under normal conditions I would agree, but do you not remember all the trash talking Miami did leading into that game and during pregame? Miles was sending a clear msg by hammering the Canes the way he did.

What happened? What did they do?

I was hoping we would fake the kneeldown and then have Lee throw a soft touch pass to Dickson in the end zone. One more TD would have looked a little better. Kudos to Richt.

i disagree with your impression of Richt on his show. if you had seen coach Donnan's interactions with fans and media(as compared to Richt's) you'd know what i mean. and i was a big fan of c. donnan and really skeptical about Richt for a long time. but richt is very gracious and patient in his interactions with fans and media. even the idiot questions that make you cringe. donnan was real smart-assed and sharp the way most of us would probably be in that situation. i live in athens which is a very small community - im sure you know how that works -and believe me Richt is a genuine nice guy and straight arrow. and i aint real big on mixing sports and religion, either.

now, yall want to argue whether richt has under achieved, or will never win a NC or whatever, go right ahead that's legitimate football discussion i.e. blondes vs redheads vs brunettes.
