A gallon of milk doesn’t cost $50,000. Nice comparison, dummy.

I swear, we deal with this shite EVERY DAY. After giving them a price...."What if I pay cash??". People are fricking stupid.

Damn. A car salesman. What a shitty job.

Cash when you are paying a contractor to do work at your house is king.

Car salesmen are the worst.

Paying cash does nothing for the dealership. We prefer you finance. We make more money when you finance.

I avoid dealerships like the plague. I always by from individuals and save that 30-40% markup.

A better idea is to not discount the MSRP by $1,000 and then add some BS protection plan for $1,000 and then say you are giving me a discount.
I'm no accountant but I am better at math than most of you dealers.

I negotiate the price, then write the check. They force you to sit down with their finance manager anyway, just to give a last “frick you” for not borrowing money from them.

You don’t make another penny off me when I finance

Times must have changed. My grandma used to buy her cars with cash. Well, the last two she had she paid cash. Both times she paid just under sticker price. This was late 80s and then early 2000s, but when she bought the one in the early 2000s she went in and pretty much told the salesman "I want a new car, I don't need one. I am paying cash. I will pay (and she said $500 under the sticker price). If you can't do it at that price I will go elsewhere".
They agreed but at first they tried to get her to trade in the car she was driving. She told them she was keeping it. She got it at the price she wanted and sold her car for $2k more than they were going to give her.
