Russia has earned a likely record $97 billion in revenue from fossil fuel exports in the first 100 days of its war in Ukraine despite heavy sanctions and Europe’s attempts to wean itself off of Russian energy, researchers said this week.
quote:
“Russia’s export revenues have been falling since March, but remain record-high” due to soaring energy prices, the Helsinki-based Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air said Sunday.
quote:
“[I]ncrease in fossil demand has created a windfall: Russia’s average export prices were an average 60% higher than last year” even with a 30% discount below international market prices, CREA said.
quote:
According to its analysis, Russia earned 93 billion euros ($97 billion) in energy revenue between when Russian troops rolled into Ukraine on Feb. 24 and the 100-day mark of the war on June 3.
quote:
Its research showed oil and oil products making up 63% of Russia’s export revenues in the first 100 days of war, with gas at 32% and 5% for coal.
quote:
The European Union imported more than 60% of Russian fossil fuels. Germany, Italy and the Netherlands spent a combined $34 billion over that period. The European Union has agreed to ban 90% of Russian crude oil by the end of 2022 as part of its sixth sanctions package. The embargo includes carve-outs for EU member states most dependent on Russian oil.
quote:
China overtook the three EU members individually with $13.1 billion in imports of mostly Russian crude oil, according to CREA’s analysis.

So sanctions have only hurt the US taxpayer with higher energy costs?
got it.
got it.

just like our overlords planned it. The insanity is right before our eyes and every turn that we think it gets stopped, it keeps on rolling. See the PA supreme court ruling that allows illegal ballots. Its madness.

100%, everything this administration does is to inflict maximum pain on the population.

Man, their citizens are going to suffer horribly for this. This whole thing is so stupid. Anything for globalism

The Moscow Times is staunchly anti Putin and anti war, similar to Novaya Gazetta.

Whispering Joe should start taking credit for Russia’s growing economy and strengthening ruble.

I don’t see this happening in reality. Quite frankly, I expect them to either not discuss it or just lie about it. I expect words over action.

But they sold it at a discount!

Here’s what I said on April 1st:
quote:
The West had mishandled this situation to an extreme. Putin at a moments notice can end Europe and sell that gas to China and India easily. Those two nations combined, while not as developed as much of Europe, have oh I don’t know about 4-5 times the population. There is huge demand there and Russia can fill it with ease.

I believe it. Russia doesn’t seem to care about running out of supply. We should send college professors over to teach them it isn’t “renewable”
OT - sorry I have to gauge my end times inner loon. Some believe that this latest ‘Russia bad’ is moving Europe away from Russian heating oil, and that Israel are growing shares in natural gas trading and will ultimately be a point of contention between the two.

You were, and are, correct.

NEW DELHI, June 13 (Reuters) - Russia rose to become India's second biggest supplier of oil in May, pushing Saudi Arabia into third place but still behind Iraq which remains No. 1, data from trade sources showed. In May Indian refiners received about 819,000 barrels per day (bpd) Russian oil, the highest thus far in any month, compared to about 277,00 in April, the data showed.

And the US middle class shrinks.

Post this on the OT.
It’s almost like we are trying to destroy our own country.

This is absolutely a feature of the green new deal being implemented by executive fiat. Make no doubt about it.
