This would be a good day for a bounce back from Ian.

Two straight starts for Contreras at catcher? I don't think that's happened this year. Normally they bounce him between C and DH, but this makes me wonder if d'Arnaud is nursing a little injury, or if the Braves are starting to feel like Contreras is just the better option right now.

I'm obviously thrilled with Contreras' production, but if Travis isn't hurt, I'd rather he at least be the DH and deal with Ozuna in left, than to have Duvall in the lineup... Unless Duvall can show that his couple of good games against the Rockies wasn't a fluke.

Think he’s recovering from a HBP

Now that you mention it, I remember he got hit the other day. I never heard any report about him being scratched due to injury, so I was kind of surprised to see him out of the lineup again.

Contreras is playing well enough to give TDA an extra day to heal up. TDA is an older catcher with an extensive injury history. I don't mind being cautious with him as long as Contreras is playing this well.

I didn't say I minded it, either. It's just not something the Braves have done UNLESS there was an injury. That's what I was curious about. I had forgotten about the HBP, because no one that I've seen has said anything about that, since it happened. But I guess that must be it.

A 1-2-3 in the first for Ian is rare. Hopefully it's a good sign.

His stuff definitely looks sharp, so far. He even had some down and away run on a fastball in the last inning. One of his biggest problems has been the lack of movement on his fastball. It makes him rely on his changeup too much, at times.

Holy hell, Dansby is on a heater. This is as hot as he's ever been at the plate.

Why have the Braves outfielders been playing so ridiculously deep the last two days? You've got an A's team with very little power, and a group of outfielders for the Braves that can cover a lot of ground, and yet we play these guys like we're afraid they're gonna hit it over our heads all night. That blooper in front of Harris should have been an out.

Dansby better watch out Ozzie might take his head off with a foul ball

If we don’t score right here, I’m not watching another game this year.

Harris

He and Ronald are going to look really good in that outfield for the next several years. DOB mentioned on a recent 755 Is Real episode that the Braves should think about extending Harris after this season if they think he's the real deal.
