The people who anticipated this take mild comfort in saying: "I told you so... morons!"

On the week that Joe Biden was sworn in as president, the average price of gas was $2.38 per gallon. That price has doubled over Biden's tenure, shooting up Friday to an all-time record high of $4.76.
The $4.76 average is the fifth record high under Biden. The average reached three records last month alone.
Biden, who early in his administration hamstrung domestic oil production efforts and whose allies in Congress worked to spike gas prices, wrote a Monday op-ed that blamed Russia's invasion of Ukraine for the price at the pump.
Gas prices started rising in December, long before Russia invaded Ukraine. That month, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee tweeted a graph that implied the president has power over gas prices, an attempt to give Biden credit for a two-cent drop in November.
"Thanks, Joe Biden," the DCCC wrote at the time.

Prices will continue to increase until the fossil fuels industry is gone. The Marxists in DC will continue to use natural gas and oil and gasoline while the rest of us will have to fight over the few electric cars that can be manufactured. Many will have to convert their natural gas heating to electric. They don't fricking care, as it's what they want to force on us.

The term is so fricking meaningless.
We still imported a frick ton of oil including over 500,000 barrels per day from Saudi Arabia alone in 2020 with higher figures in 2019.
Energy independence means jack shite - we imported a hell of a lot of oil from 2016-2020.
