They are saying he had a marking on the face of his club. They DQ’d him midway through the round. No explanation at current.

I assume to collect launch monitor data.

Champions Tour guy just got DQ'd for the same thing in the last couple of months. Can't remember who though

Looks like Captain America turned him in.

So, it seems his club guy had painted on the face for alignment which is allowed.

The rules officials determined that the amount of paint “could” affect ball flight and spin. They have no proof, but applied the rules as they saw fit.

It did look like thickish paint

Should have used a white sharpie

Would like to know who “called it in.”

There’s a pic on Twitter. It’s pretty bad.

They are claiming a rule official saw it on #1.

Also, yeah, he should go to LIV. Here’s another rules official issue on the tour. I only wish it happened to Sergio so he could go apeshit again.

Groves are ok. The excess is not.

Mr. Srixon is hitting a TM hybrid?!

Upon further review, that does look excessive. Adios

Correct.

Mat's would never try to cheat.

Reminded me of the old days on the BBQ Circuit when some guys put Vaseline on their drivers face.

Wow. Talk about a dumbass move. You’d think he’d go to someone before the round and say, “Hey guys, is this ok? If not, what is?”

I don’t know the rule, but I highly doubt filling in the grooves on your club is legal.

If you want. Look at the new drivers. Hardly any groves for straight knuckle distance.
