Writer uses memorial day to "remember" gun victims

Its a national sports writer you may know, but it isnt sports so putting it here:

San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler said he would stop standing for the Anthem before games, writing in an angry blog post: “Every time I place my hand over my heart and remove my hat, I’m participating in a self-congratulatory glorification of the ONLY country where these mass shootings take place … I am not OK with the state of this country.”
