The tactical team arrived at the scene around noon, but did not breach until nearly an hour later, the officials saying local police were telling them to hold back. According to Texas Department of Safety head Steven McCraw, the on-scene commander at the time thought the situation had “transitioned” from an active shooter situation to a “barricade” shooter situation with no children at risk, which he admitted was the “wrong” decision in hindsight.

Sounds like he was scared and just didn’t want to risk his life. Regardless of what you think in this situation, if you don’t have eyes on the truth then you have to go in there and assume kids are alive.

What's weird is that during that hour, there is no doubt they heard rounds getting fired off. Were they standing around jerking eachother off?

Did they try negotiating with the shooter? They left him in there for over an hour with hostages.

I'm watching it now. Sickening.

Colonel is calling out the police.

Abbott is not going to cover for these guys.

Someone should have told him there was a dog inside the school. All 150 would have breached to get a chance a fido.

I call bullshite. If the picture I saw of the bp agent that shot the piece of shite is legit he was in street clothes other than a vest. If he stood around for an hour I'm sure he would have had his swat/tactical uniform on

The nonexistent blue line

Most consequential 2 hour span in their lives, many signed up in order to specifically do something in this kind of situation, and this is what happens. Absolutely laughable.

McCraw choked up as he shared details of at least eight 911 calls made by students inside the classrooms before police made entry. He said the first student called 911 at 12:03 p.m., and calls continued for more than 45 minutes, during which operators could hear gunfire over the phone. At 12:16, McGraw said, a girl called to report that "eight to nine" students were alive. She called back 30 minutes later, begging for help, saying she could hear officers outside the classroom.

"Please send the police now," she said, according to McGraw.

911 was getting repeated calls from a kid inside the classroom saying people were dead and begging them to send the police now.

The “we didn’t know there were kids in there” is bullshite. Or another huge communication lapse if 911 wasn’t telling police they were still getting calls from inside the classroom.

Was the guy shooting during that hour? I see some people saying he was. Or did he blow all his ammo early on?
