Absent and defective parenting - solutions?

Absent parents produce mentally ill children. I don’t care if it’s bc you’re a drug addict, too young or too stupid about the person you selected to have sex with - the only way out of all of this societal rot is for grown adults to take on their societal and moral obligations to support their own children.

The only things I learned in family law were - 1) you have a fundamental right to raise your child; and 2) you have a fundamental obligation to support your child. It’s as if we forgot those things! And now we have the added problem of government employees with pink hair and nose rings who don’t know what gender they are thinking they have the right to raise your kid.

Enough My suggestions for solutions:

1- End abortion on demand as a means of birth control. If people want to do it like alleycats- they should deal with the consequences. Those consequences include- raising your baby if you make one. BOTH OF YOU. Abortion on demand made the responsibility disposable. I have 2 friends who had babies and took law school finals within a few weeks of giving birth. Their kids didn’t become criminals. They married the dads. And BOTH women are successful attorneys. There is fundamentally NO excuse for abortion on demand. Sorry honey. You can still go to beauty school, law school or medical school with a baby. They don’t kick you out for having one.

2- Send parents to jail if they raise a lunatic that kills 19 children. You created that monster. If your 17 yr old gets in a car accident that kills every kid on school bus? GUESS WHAT? You’re liable, in tort —ALREADY! So why exactly are we letting this drug addicted lowlife who dumped her kid on her elderly parents and her Tom Cat of a sperm donor off the hook here????

3- Jail men that abandon their babies and don’t pay child support. Just put them in jail. Make them worse than the pariahs most people think they are. Sooner or later there will be an inverse incentive to just WEAR A CONDOM.

4- Jail drug addict parents who dump their own kids in favor of their addiction. Don’t just take their kids away. Put them in fricking jail. Because guess what? Sooner or later their spawn will be shooting up high schools or robbing liquor stores.

5- bring back mental institutions and put people in them when they show dangerous or threatening behavior. Young people. Old people. Homeless people. Any kind of People. These people don’t necessarily belong in a prison. But they sure as shite may need to live out their days in an asylum. Doing otherwise is cruel. These people are ill. They require medical attention. There’s nowhere to send crazy people so they don’t endanger themselves or others.

6- bring back juvenile detention centers. I had a friend who’s a MSW tell me that kids no longer go to these. They send them back to HS with ankle bracelets. WTF?

7- Do away with incentives to be a single mother and pop out as many kids as you can. Possibly re route those funds to helping out low income nuclear families. We need to incentivize GOOD present parenting. Parenting is more than financial support. It’s protecting your kid. Loving your kid. Being present with your kid. I read somewhere that one of the most significant indicators for a child’s success is as simple as family dinner time. Don’t just feed your kid. Share a meal with your family. Works better than a tutor.
