Biden Baby Formula Crisis Hospitalizes Milwaukee Infants with Malnutrition

Biden admin shut down a factory because of 2 cases of a salmanella like infection. The factory shut down, cleaned the factory, had itself tested, and applied to have the factory reopened. The Biden admin dragged it's feet for months and ignored the request to reopen. The admin now is implementing a government solution to a government problem and claiming the Ukraine/Russia war is responsible.
Basically, everything you would expect from incompetent leadership.

Damn FDA shut down the Abbott plant in Michigan over bacteria. Suppposed to be back up in 2 to 3 weeks.
The problem is why aren't there more competitors? Why wasn't the "cleanup" expedited? Why did this drag on so long?

Probably due to a combination of:
-Labor shortages due to incentives not to work;
-FDA closure of largest formula plant in US;
-shipments of US formula supply to Mexican border and Ukraine;
-regulations preventing importation of formula from foreign countries; etc.

The FDA shut down the largest supplier. kept them closed for months.
This was over 4 cases (2 died) and it was not conclusive that the issue was the formula. It's more likely unsanitized bottles and nipples.

Babies get admitted to the hospital for malnutrition every day. It usually has very little to do with formula and a lot to do with bad/stupid parents. This is probably no different in the main.
