Not that bad and I do hear some gun shots mostly from a long distance off.
Actually, pretty quiet.
When I lived off N Sherwood it was a 21 gun salute every Friday night, then BRPD, the you knew it was bad with the chopper circling, and if you were lucky you would see hostage response vehicle in the neighbroha.

I hear automatic weapons in Geismar all the time.

Yup, protecting one’s family remains at the forefront. Obviously people who live in BR understand the dangers of the city and how undesirables who have nothing to live for can easy enter nice neighborhoods from their shitholes looking to victimize.
I have very little faith in the criminal justice system of BR and how BRPD would handle a justifiable homicide that occurred on your property. If you ended up protecting your family from some tPOS it would end up costing you tens of thousands, and depending on what kind of cop associated with BRPD was handling the case they could easily try and charge you. Violent crime occurs everywhere, but it’s exponentially more prevalent in BR where you hopefully luck out and never have to experience firsthand.
If I had to shoot someone in self defense in BR, hopefully The People would be handling my case

If I ever shoot someone in self defense, I hope The People is logged in to see my post
And where I live in BR - it might happen

Lol that’s Albertsons is crazy
When I went a few days ago, someone stole a motorized cart the police were there, the time before that they was arresting a drunk
Fun times in St. George

Gunfight in the parking lot of the Albertson's on George O'Neal Road, mere walking distance from my house.

Same here! Wife was at the store just now when it happened. A cop had to walk her to her car because she was parked inside the crime taped off area.

The one on Government St is a shite show as well. Close to N. Foster

I've always found that store to be pretty nice by BR standards. I go a lot. I went yesterday actually.

Agreed. I like that store.

It really isn’t.

If you don’t experience the sound of gunshots in your community, maybe it’s time for you to check your privilege.

Gunshots in St. George just now
Time to move
Just for the record, St George isn't going to save the day forever. It really just buys us a little time while we consider the rest of our options. Without SG, this entire parish becomes unlivable for people who aren't solidly on the dole in the next 10 years. With it, it gets us maybe 20 or so but eventually, it will fall. There's just no way to keep us insulated from the mad max lifestyle that will permeate EBR eventually.
Y'all have accepted that, right?
