Crews is the best non-pitching baseball prospect that LSU has ever had.

It's a joke that he has to go back to college for another year.

I don't think it is a "joke" that he will have one more year. DC knew what he was doing and what he signed up for. Maybe a poor choice of words but, MLB isn't going anywhere and he could go down as one of the greatest college players ever. Need to get to Omaha and he can cement his legacy.

It benefits LSU so I am all for it.

1. He doesn’t. (He just can’t go pro)
2. What right does he have to join an organization that he’s not qualified for?
3. MLB is a private organization that sets the rules for admission. He could’ve gone pro out of high school, but he chose college.

If I had to start a team with one non-pitcher I would take Bregman over Crews. They were both great offensively. Bregman was severely handicapped with the dead bats. Even so, I would take Crews’ offense over Bregman, but Bregman was a defensive player to build an infield around. Todd Walker is another great one to consider.

I am ok with this argument for football and basketball but not for baseball. Almost every player that comes to LSU gets drafted out of high school. When they choose to go to college over the MLB they know exactly how long they have to be there before they get another chance to go pro. No reason to feel sorry for them.
