You may not like her view points or her attire, but she is a qualified politician and economist. She was also born a woman. She is is an ovarian cancer survivor. Which means she had ovaries at some point.

She is the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. Making her one of the most powerful people in DC.
She’s also been attacking the FDA and Abbott the last few months. She didn’t wait on the facts about the investigation.
I suspect the FDA were dragging their feet reopening the plant because they were already under fire. If anything else happened, then heads would role.
Despite no evidence directly linking the outbreak to the lab, her main focus is criticizing the FDA and Abbott for safety issues, instead of formula shortages.
Abbott’s facility had problems, but according to the investigation, it looks like the formula was contaminated in the homes of the infants. She doesn’t care about facts. She’s going to keep repeating a false narrative to help her agenda.

I am eager for this week’s hearing to find answers as to how this food safety failure occurred and identify ways to prevent it from happening again.

While we know we have more work to do to get to the bottom of serious safety concerns at an Abbott facility and the FDA’s failure to address them with any sense of urgency, this bill is the first step to help restock shelves and end this shortage,” she said.

Oh please, there’s no such thing as a congressperson that is a qualified economist. That’s why they’re in politics.

That’s clearly the most important thing here.
Actually yea it’s kinda important. The title infers that she was chosen for this “position” when in reality there is no position and she wasn’t chosen for anything.
This board routinely calls out the news media for false & misleading stories. But this, albeit not the media, fits the narrative around here so it’s acceptable.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York, attended the London School of Economics and earned a master's degree in international politics from[5] Columbia University.

And AOC has a degree in Economics from Boston University and is one of the most economically illiterate retards on the hill. I don't give one damn about your degree since that paper is worthless to me and everyone else after your first major job. After that I only care what you do from there.

Because a degree these days doesn't mean you're an expert at something, just that you've got an IQ over 80, and even that's questionable.

That was my question too - what's up with all the trannies in this admin? WTF does a cross dressing man know about baby formula?
That's because whatever the Democrat party used to be, it has become completely taken over by the fringe lunatic wing. Merit and ability DO NOT MATTER. The appointment/hiring criteria is just to get a requisite number to members of the island of misfit toys in those positions without any regard whatsoever to if those people can actually do the job.
If you needed a heart transplant and you had your choice of any surgeon in the world would you chose the doctor who is the best at the procedure (regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc) or a lesbian, transgender, muslim SOLELY on the basis of diversity...even if that person was terrible at their job?
That seems like a very easy answer for rational people. Unfortunately, the Democrat party today is not made up of such people. The current state of the country is what happens when you make ability and merit a peripheral concern

Why didn’t Joe and Democrats start doing something in February or push to reopen plant sooner when cause of deaths not found at plant?

Resolve what? There is nothing to resolve. A factory got shut down for quality reasons. This created a shortage. The problem has been resolved, and the factory is reopening in a week or two. That’s it; it’s over. The shortage will resolve itself. There is no time for a government solution.

Exactly! In engineering we don’t even let degreed engineers use the title “Engineer”. To call themselves and engineer they have to have five years of suitable experience and pass a test. Even then half of them are incompetent.
