Taking a long weekend next month. Looking for restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Search function wasn’t having it. TIA.

The new Pearl hotel is very nice and has an excellent restaurant and lounge. Fields and North Beach restaurant are solid as well as Cuz's for seafood. Murky Waters has consistently good BBQ. I stay away from the Blind Tiger. Just not my kind of place. There is a nice daiquiri shop downtown as well. Lots to do and drink! Enjoy

Mocking Bird Cafe for breakfast. Really good food and coffee. Get there early, it is a small place with not much seating.

Best Restaurant is Thorny Oyster in bottom of Pearl Hotel.
Best bar is debatable. Row of deck bars on one side. restaurant bars on the other. Bar in the top of Trapanis is ok. Thorny Oyster will have craft cocktails and has a bar inside there.
Everything is on the same block or two so you can take your pick of them all and don't have to worry about passing up one for the other.

shops
Gallery 220 is worth a walk through. A good bit of art from locals.

Agreed. It's great.
Haven't had any reason to stay at the Pearl, but heard great things from others. Looks nice.
Haven't eaten at the Thorny Oyster yet, but heard good reviews. I like Trapani's, Field's is good, North Beach is consistently good. Food at Blind Tiger and the like isn't great, but fun place to hang out and have a beer in the afternoon, especially if you come in by boat.

Upstairs at North Beach
Don't overlook hopping over to Pass Christian one day, for a bit - Whiskey Prime & Whiskey Bar (across the street from one another, not the same) or Hook.

The whole place is 2 blocks by 2 blocks, you could literally go in every shop in a morning.
I’d get reservations at the Sycamore House if their menu looks good to you.
Karakos is the only true bar, but it can be way too smoky for some. Every restaurant has bars. Thorny Oyster has the best IMO, but it’s spendy.

It's so weird going into a bar with smoke these days too.

Agree about the Pearl & Thorny Oyster - both are really nice
The Pearl’s bar, Hinge, is really good too
The Pearl is within walking distance to a lot of things.

The Thorny Oyster is the best restaurant.
The Blind Tiger. This place will never be confused with a great gourmet restaurant but it is enjoyable to sit outside on the patio overlooking the water when the weather is nice.

Mockingbird breakfast is very good.
We prefer Buttercup breakfast. Also a small place.
Can't go wrong with either.
