We all need to guy by 40-80 acres, build a house, start a garden and orchard, and get some livestock.
Living in a cubicle and eating bugs isn't as great as it sounds.

Nah, I'm shooting for around 300 or so acres here soon.
And you don't need a bunch of acreage to grow most of your own food. Chickens and a well thought out garden take up very little room.
I already grow a good chunk of our vegetable produce for the wife and I in a few raised beds. Anything that isn't eaten right away gets canned or frozen.

Honestly 1-2 acres would probably work for a small family - assuming you are allowed to do a large vegetable garden and raise some chickens to help soften the blow of insane food prices.

I think working in cubicles have a long term impact on people. I will not go into detail because I know no one will read it, but this article on howstuffworks.com gives information about why cubicles can be a killer.
Death By Cubicle
I don't see a date when the article was published, but I really think the best thing to do is to get 5 or 6 acres, build a house, grow a garden, get some pigs and chickens, and a few cows (and I guess a bull to knock up the cows).
I wouldn't be surprised if more and more people start living a life where they have to depend less and less on other people for their needs.
