Would a fan work?
I had similar issues and decided to install a fan mounted on the wall near my cooking area and when I cook something Smokey, I just turn on the fan and it blows everything out. It works very well.
It’s a nice fan too and serves dual purpose of cooling hot days

That was my question as well, I have this 3 speed fan below from Amazon hung from the roof of my patio that I use to blow out smoke if I'm cooking under my patio. It's small but moves a ton of air, I have it low enough that I can reach up and adjust the angle to blow it where I want. I'm about to add a second one that way I can have one to handle smoke and another to move some air on the patio to keep the area cooler.

Same thought here. Adding a venthood to an outdoor kitchen sounds like an Aggie joke.
