Can we just again acknowledge how phenomenal the casting and acting is in this show?
The latest eopide really showed off the entire cast.. And it was great getting eveyone in the same city again. Getting Ruddy and Evans back in a scene together was chemistry magic.
Aside from Goode as Evans, who obviously steals the show, we have to talk about how great Burn Gorman is as Bludhorn and the ever delightful Juno Temple... Who basically makes every show she's in better.
Fogler and the guy who plays Puzo are also perfect.
It's easily the most enjoyable show I've seen in a while.
Lets also take a moment to again say "screw the fake media" whom apparently still can't spot good entertainment. The RT critics score on this show is like 45%...that beyond me. The audience score, however, is like 95%.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Anyway I watched the first 45 minutes of it and it’s quite interesting. Evans’ voice is gold and it’s crazy how well the actor in Offer nailed it too.
If he doesn't win an award, I will flip a small table

She creeps me out in this. She looks so anorexic, she has skeleton mouth. Her acting is fine and the show is fantastic, but her appearance is cringey.

It's a great cast from Goode/Evans to Ribisi/ Colombo. One of the funniest lines is when Colombo asks Ruddy if the Johnny Fontaine character is about Sinatra and Ruddy replies, "Joe, do you want him to be Sinatra?"
An interesting note on Sinatra and the mob. An old FBI agent told me that the mob tolerated Sinatra more than anything else. He was not Sicilian, his family came from Northern Italy and the Sicilians sort of hate the Northern Italians. Now, Vic Damone and Al Martino were different, they were Southern Italians something the mob could tolerate a little better Ultimately Al Martino is cast as a favor to Colombo. But really they wanted Rocco Farinola to play the part....Vic Damone

According to Coppola, Evans, the actors everyone else who was there, the sabatoge that went on in this latest episode lasted for weeks and weeks, and, when Evans found out, he went apeshit and nearly fired Ruddy, which of course isn't in the episode.
Paramount also had Elia Kazan lined up to direct if/when Coppola got fired. Apparently the actors literally didn't know if Coppola would be back on set each day because everyone, including Ruddy, were not sold on him nor Pacino, still even weeks into filming.
The stuff about the restaurant scene, though is pretty accurate, but I think it was actually this scene LINK instead, where Michael says he'll kill both McKlusky and Solozzo and not the actual shooting scene. Once they showed the scene to Bludhorn and the Gulf+Western execs, it was a wrap, A
And then they were sold in Pacino and Coppola, and no more shenanigans took place.
I still can't get over the guy playing Pacino. It's fricking uncanny.

Burn Gorman has become one of my favorite character actors. He’s great in everything he’s in.

Bludhorn talking to Evans while they were shooting the restaurant scene had me cracking up.

This show is almost as good as the movie itself. Amazing episode tonight. My favorite current show.

Goode’s voice. Damn. After watching/listening to the Evans documentary suggested by the astute poster, damn he nailed it. And Goode/Evans’ voice is insane, is musical when praising and downright acid when tearing into people. It’s like it’s own part of the movie.

Such a typical Robert Evans line. Dude was a big time Alpha.

I love this series. I understand that it is a dramatization, but if any of these events, especially those involving the mob, are close to the truth, it’s insane and makes it even better. I need to read the book the show is based on.

That whole cast was remarkable. Casale was Fredo. From interviews, he was the actor other than Brando that the others were in awe of, including Pacino because he had worked with him before. In all the discussions, you don't hear a word about Duval's Tom Hagen character and really you don't hear much about James Caan as Sonny. I've always thought that Caan nailed it as a true gangster in the film.

This show gets better and better. It’s won me over. Never thought I’d be rooting for Bob Evans and Joe Colombo.

Ehhhhh. I don't know if the particulars are accurate, but the guys at OCB at the FBI said that in the 70's The Godfather was almost like a recruitment video for wannabe mobsters.
